Bus driver suspended in Tirupattur for talking over phone while driving

The 38-year-old driver of a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bus in Tirupattur was suspended for talking on his mobile phone while driving.

TNSTC officials said the driver was identified as K. Shanmugam, a native of Krishnagiri. Initial investigation revealed that the government bus was heading towards Tirupattur town from Ettipatti village in Krishnagiri district and the passengers found the bus driver talking on the phone.

Some passengers took a video of the incident and shared it on social media, causing public reaction. Upon investigation, TNSTC issued a restraining order against the driver. Strict warnings were also given to the bus crew against such practices. An investigation is ongoing.
