Bird-hit incidents at Hyderabad airport lower than in major Indian cities

The data presented in Rajya Sabha, Haydarabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), said in the last five years compared to other major airports in India.
Civil Aviation State Minister Murlidhar Mohol, who answered a question on Monday, said that Haydarabad reported a total of 207 bird strikes between 2020 and June 2025. Annual figures in 2021 in 2021, 33, 29, 2023 in 2023, 48 in 2024, 43 and 1625 in the first half of 1625.

The ministry, which discussed concerns about aviation security, said that all airports were compulsory to implement a wildlife danger management plan by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation. This includes measures such as habitat modification, rodent and insect control, and the use of bird detection and distribution systems using both biological and chemical methods.
