Why foreign tourists are turning away from India’s party capital

Figures released by Goa’s tourism department underline these trends. Approximately 900,000 foreigners visited the state in 2017. By 2025, this number dropped to around half a million. The number of domestic tourists increased from 6.8 million in 2016 to over 10 million last year.
