Morrisons adds NHS cancer health warning to 3 bath and shower products | UK | News

Leading supermarket Morrisons is set to highlight health messages across its bath and shower products, focusing on cancer awareness through an unprecedented “first of its kind” collaboration with the NHS.
The initiative aims to encourage customers to use “everyday routines” such as showering to examine their bodies for potential cancer warning signs. These include changes to the skin and unexplained bruising or swelling.
This is especially important for women who want to identify early indicators of breast cancer and men who are being checked for testicular cancer.
The nine new shower and bath products, which will be available in all 450 stores and online throughout May, will feature messages such as “Be Aware of Your Body” or “Know the signs of cancer” on their packaging.
Products carrying new health messages include Muscle Soothing Sea Minerals and Sage Essence Bath, Tingly Mint Shower Gel, and Lavender and Water Lily Herbal Bath.
Customers are encouraged to contact their doctor if they notice something that “doesn’t look or feel right.” Although the new changes are harmless, it is vital to control them.
The initiative forms part of a wider NHS campaign to raise awareness and detect early signs of cancer when treatment is most effective. “We are proud to partner with the NHS again to raise awareness of cancer symptoms with new body awareness messaging across our own brand bath and shower products,” said David Scott, corporate affairs director at Morrisons. “The message highlights the importance of detecting symptoms early and encouraging people to contact their doctor if something is not right, both of which can lead to earlier treatment and ultimately saving lives.
“This is a vital message and we believe it is important to help the NHS reach as many customers as possible, encouraging them to check in and be aware of their bodies.”
The supermarket giant has joined forces with the NHS for the second time to include health warnings across its range, following a 2023 initiative to include breast and testicular cancer guidance on Nutmeg branded underwear.
“Detecting cancer early can save lives and this partnership is a simple but powerful way to encourage people to be more conscious about their bodies,” public health minister Sharon Hodgson said.
“By placing these reminders on everyday products used by millions of people, the NHS and Morrisons are helping to make potentially life-saving advice part of people’s daily routines.
“This is a great example of business and the NHS working hand in hand to build a healthy Britain where everyone lives well for longer. If you notice anything unusual or it doesn’t feel right, please contact your GP,” Hodgson added.
