Basildon NHS maternity staff sue hospital trust over gas exposure

According to claimants, nitrous oxide levels can build up quickly in maternity units with poor ventilation. The gas is released into the atmosphere when the laboring mother exhales, gas lines leak, and nitrous oxide canisters are opened and connected to equipment.
