Jewish man in hospital after being ‘assaulted by a number of men’ in Golders Green | UK | News

A Jew was attacked early Monday, police said. The Metropolitan Police were called to a road in Golders Green, north London, shortly after 2am on May 18 to reports that a Jewish man had been attacked by several men.

Police added that the man in his 20s was taken to hospital and was treated for injuries to his back and face. The alleged incident occurred outside a property in the Grove.

Police said they were treating the incident as an anti-Semitic hate crime.

Police added that no arrests have been made and anyone with information is asked to contact police.

A Met Police spokesman said: “Police were called at 2.05am on Monday, May 18, following reports that a Jewish man had been attacked by a number of men outside a property in The Grove, NW11.

“Officers responded within six minutes and later spoke to the victim, a man in his 20s, who suffered injuries to his face and back.

“The attack is being treated as an anti-Semitic hate crime. No arrests have been made at this stage and police investigations are ongoing.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting CAD 542/18MAY.”

The Jewish civilian patrol organization Shomrim said there was “absolutely no place for anti-Semitic hatred, violence or intimidation in our society.”
