NSW Premier Chris Minns decries ‘enormous challenge’ at Sydney hospital after 70yo sleeps on floor

NSW Premier Chris Minns confessed that a 70 -year -old man was photographed on the floor of the West Sydney Hospital, after being photographed on the floor of the West Sydney Hospital, the state’s health system should “do better”.

The photo sent to Facebook by the man’s daughter Hayley Leatham shows 70 -year -old Raymond with a bag behind a series of chairs in the Blacktown Hospital.

“This is the sad reality of our public health system and our emergency waiting times and our lack of beds,” he said.

“My father (a) is 70 years old, where life -threatening low -level hemoglobin levels are waiting for blood transfusions.

“I have the most respect for our nurses and doctors, but this is really heartbreaking.”

Leatham told Ben Fordham from 2GB to Fordham on Tuesday morning and that his father had to wait more than 24 hours at the busy West Sydney Hospital after having severe diarrhea.

“There were red flags because there is a 70 -year -old diabetes and hypertension history,” Fordham said.

“Despite his condition, Raymond came out of the hospital bed for a 24 -hour period.

“He was so painful that he had to lie on the base of the emergency room.”

Later, Fordham’a Speaking, Minns admitted that the images were “clearly sad ,, stressed the family, but left most of the crime in the former coalition government.

The former Liberal-Nationals accused the state government of inadequate investment in Western Sydney hospitals.

“When you go to an emergency service to obtain the best possible health service, you do not want to be in a situation where you need to wait for this period,” he said.

“Today’s situation is not the place to be, and we need to do better with the gigantic investment we put in health.”

Mr. Minns admitted that the state government did not deserve a golden star ”.

Orum I know we have a tremendous challenge ahead of us and I definitely don’t look for an honor round, ”he said.

“But what I tell you would be destructive to return to the old privatization model of the NSW public health system, a wage limit and an inadequate investment in West Sydney.”

Mr. Minns said that the number of patients treated clinically at the Blacktown Hospital increased from 30 percent to 40 percent under the government of the workers’ state.

He also promised to establish 60 new beds for Blacktown and MT Druitt hospitals and to provide funding for a highly delayed Rouse Hill and renewed Bankstown hospitals.

These commitments did very little to care about criticism from the opposition health spokesman Kellie Sloane, who said that seeing images from Blacktown to Fordham was “very shocking”.

“This should not be in our hospitals,” he said.

“Patients in Blacktown sleep on the floor because there are not enough beds.

“I am very sorry for this gentleman and his family, good people who pay taxes throughout their lives and our system disappointed them when they were the most vulnerable and sick.”

Vauclose deputy, the situation was not reflected in the personnel and doctors at the BlackTown Hospital, and long hospital delays, “alarm ringing” claimed that he claimed.

“We need solutions in Blacktown,” he said.

“One of the poorest performances in the west of Sydney.

“It ranks 20th from 20 hospitals in the category to deal with people entering the emergency department.

“We have to do something.”
