Between July 2001 and December 2002, Mrs. Blair bought more than £ 75,000 – equivalent to £ 150,000 – but newly published articles from national archives paid only £ 31,000 for them.
Download Street officials were worried that these benefits should be announced under a new ministry code that came into force later, and advised Blairs to pay thousands of pounds back.
It is not clear whether this is happening.
Only Mrs. Blair from fashion designer Nicole Farhi bought an outfit worth £ 21,000 for herself and the Prime Minister and paid a little more than £ 8,000.
He also made significant discounts from Burberry, James Lakeland, Ungaro, Joseph and Maria Grachvogel.
These “wholesale” discounts were negotiated by Ms. Blair’s instructor and Carole Caplin, who made a personal shopping.
Sir Tony, Prime Minister between 1997-2007, took advantage of a 25% discount for Paul Smith’s case.
The newly published documents reveal how the optics of discounts and expenditures were concern to download street officials at that time.
“In terms of public perception,” he wrote 10 Special Secretary Clare Sumner, “the relevant quantities are quite large”.
Together with the cabinet secretary, he suggested that Blairs had to repay a portion of the discount, but he had the right to divide the purchase of Cherie in two, and half of the clothes were necessary for the role of a “career woman”.
They would say that Blairs had “commercial terms” from the designers and that it was usually a discount of about 10%or 15%.
Ms. Blair has the same treatment as personal shopping people and suggested other options, including saying that they needed clothes for their public engagement.
Ms. Blair sometimes gave their clothes to charity or exhibitions after use: “Therefore, it is difficult to see how everyone can seriously claim that everyone provides a clear personal benefit from your position.”

In the note of 19 February 2003, Sir Tony scribbled “Talk to Me”. Later on that day, Mrs. Blair spoke with Mrs. Sumner.
His note to the Cabinet Secretary dated March 4, 2003, Ms. Blair’s Paddy Campbell, Paul Smith and Nicole Farhi “to put forward trade conditions, these terms are others (personal shopping or individuals) and the number of people who buy their clothes in a similar way to accept an estimation.
He would also confirm that “Privacy Agreements” existed with these designers.
The aim was to “satisfy” that the cabinet secretary Sir Andrew Turnbull “was not a preference treatment.
There is no clothing discount gift in the gift list of the ministry in the file published on March 14, 2003.
On behalf of Blairs, Tony Blair Institute said: “We have nothing to add to those explained earlier, which shows that the advice is searched and followed.”
PA MediaAs Prime Minister, Sir Tony received extremely generous gifts from famous people and world leaders.
U2 Chief singer Bono gave him a guitar – like Bryan Adams.
At that time, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi offered more than one designer watch, including hours from Piaget, Corum, Jaeger-Couldre and Cartier.
The Prime Minister asked Ms. Sumner to make the list “more boring” – therefore the released version did not include the type of clock that could sell retail on thousands of pounds.
“I took the details of the individuals, and I have removed the valuation of all items except for those who bought and minimized the explanations of the elements.”
The concern about discounted clothes has similarities to the criticisms of Sir Keir Starmer and his wife. Last year he was More than £ 18,000 for glasses and work clothes Sir Keir’s wife Victoria is from Lord Alli, a Lord Alli, who pays some clothes worth £ 6,000.
