Civil Supplies Services Must Be Expanded: Manohar

Vijayawada:Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Nadendla Manohar continued her two-day visit to New Delhi by holding a series of high-level meetings aimed at strengthening the state’s public distribution and consumer services systems.
Focusing on protecting public interest and improving efficiency of civil materiel operations, the minister held discussions with senior Union government officials on important pending issues related to Andhra Pradesh.
The minister met Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas secretary Dr Neeraj Mittal and joint secretary Sujata Sharma, accompanied by ministry secretary K. Kannababu. Discussions focused on improving coordination in the supply chain, resolving outstanding government issues, and ensuring efficient delivery of services to consumers.
Later, Manohar paid a courtesy call on Union minister of consumer affairs, food and public distribution Prahlad Joshi.
The leaders discussed various issues of concern to Andhra Pradesh, including strengthening civil material management, implementation of consumer welfare programmes, transparent service delivery and strengthening Centre-State coordination.
The Minister said that the Andhra Pradesh government has given top priority to expediting measures to protect public interest and provide quality and efficient services to consumers across the state.
