Former Cy Young winner Trevor Bauer survives nasty car wreck while chasing MLB comeback

Trevor Bauer’s path to a return to the Major Leagues took another big swing Wednesday afternoon.

Effectively blacklisted by Major League Baseball, the former Cy Young winner found himself in the middle of a nasty wreck in Arizona.

Bauer, 35, was involved in a blinding crash while driving his black McLaren down a Phoenix-area street.

TMZ He reported that Bauer was exceeding the posted 45 mph speed limit and was not at fault for the crash. Emergency responders reportedly confirmed that no one involved required hospitalization.

Bauer walked away completely unscathed.

Ironically, this isn’t the first time Bauer has seen a McLaren gobble up dust.

In 2019, a fake semi-truck tire flew off the highway, splashed into a dealership parking lot, and crushed a parked 2016 McLaren 650S.

LA COURT ORDERS TREVOR BAUER’S ACCUSER TO PAY HIM OVER $300K FOR BREACH OF AGREEMENT

Bauer’s career, which rose to the top of the baseball world after winning the Cy Young Award and signing a three-year, $102 million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers, was thrown into chaos in 2021 after accuser Lindsey Hill’s sexual assault allegations sparked a media firestorm.

Although criminal charges were never filed and Bauer has consistently maintained his innocence, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred handed him an unprecedented 324-game suspension, which was later reduced to 194 games by an arbitrator.

Bauer, who was never criminally charged but was toxic to all 30 front offices, has spent the last few years working away from the MLB spotlight. He currently plays for the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League, where he has a 4-1 record with a 2.43 ERA.

Ironically, Bauer was only in Arizona to recover from back spasms.

Bauer publicly campaigned for another MLB opportunity for months, even offering to play for the league’s minimum salary. He survived the controversy that derailed his career and is still seeking a major-league comeback after coming away unscathed from Wednesday’s wreck.
