YouTube Kids’ excitement Danny Go’s teenage son Isaac passed away due to his battle with aggressive cancer and a rare genetic disorder.

The star, whose real name is Daniel Coleman, announced the heartbreaking news on Instagram on Friday that his son had died the previous day after battling the rare inherited genetic disorder Fanconi anemia and later aggressive cancer.

The disorder makes some types of cancer highly likely, and he was diagnosed with oral cancer in 2019, which had spread ‘aggressively’ throughout his body.

After Isaac’s cancer progressed, Daniel and his wife, Mindy, who are also parents to 10-year-old Levi, shifted their focus to palliative care and pain management to make sure his remaining time was as comfortable and peaceful as possible.

‘The pain in my heart is too much for me to bear. But as I looked at thousands of photos and videos last week, I was also filled with great pride…

‘Your 14 years were filled with many challenges, but you faced them all with great courage… and somehow maintained your trademark cheerfulness through it all…

‘You truly had a spark like no other, Isaac! It brings me great comfort to remember how much you were loved and how full of life your time here was. It was the honor of your life to be your father. I am so proud of you and I love you forever. ‘Rest in peace my son.’

Following the announcement, YouTube star Miss Rachel (real name Rachel Accurso) took to Instagram to pay tribute to the family.

She posted: ‘Hello wonderful parent and caregiver community – Please send so much love, so many thoughts and prayers to Danny Go and his beautiful family. Danny’s precious son passed away…

‘We are so sorry for their loss and think of their son’s incredible joy and great pride.’ He added a caption that read: ‘Let’s all turn on Danny Go today, send lots of love and prayers and top it all off with support’.

Fanconi anemia is a rare, inherited genetic disease that causes progressive bone marrow failure (aplastic anemia), physical abnormalities, and a significantly increased risk of developing cancers such as leukemia and solid tumors.

In December, Daniel shared the news of Isaac’s diagnosis with his followers on his Instagram page, saying they “knew that day would come” due to the link between cancer and Fanconi anemia.

Following the announcement, YouTube star Miss Rachel (real name Rachel Accurso) took to Instagram to pay tribute to the family.

In the post, she wrote: ‘Family update time! Since the children’s show has grown, I don’t share personal posts anymore, just to keep some peace…

‘But we have some big news about Isaac and we wanted to share it with those who have followed him over the last 14 years. First, here are some happy photos from our recent trip to England! We haven’t had a real family holiday in years and we had such a great time…

‘Okay, now the bad news… We found out last week that Isaac has cancer in his mouth. TBH, we always knew this day would come as it was almost certainly due to Fanconi anemia…

‘But it definitely hits a little earlier than we’d hoped, and even if you’ve been preparing for it for years, it’s still very shocking to hear about your child. There are a lot of scans going on and we’re not sure how far it’s spread yet…

In December, he announced that they learned about the diagnosis after a trip to England.

‘But for now the plan is to try to surgically remove the cancer as soon as possible. We had previously undergone chemotherapy for Isaac’s bone marrow transplant, but this was a much less ideal path due to his genetic defect and the damage the radiation had done to the rest of his body.

‘So our hope is that we’ll be early enough to cut them all off. The location of the cancer will require fairly extensive surgery and potential bone work, so we’re not sure yet what the recovery will look like. But we are concerned about this being done quickly, so the surgery will probably take place within the next few weeks….

‘During scans this week, we also discovered some brain spots that indicate potential degenerative nerve problems…

‘This dovetails with some mobility issues we’ve noticed recently, so this is another can of worms that could soon have a pretty big impact on him. But for now, we are taking it one step at a time and fighting cancer aggressively…

She shared lots of sweet photos from her holidays

In January, Isaac underwent an eight-hour surgery to have his cancer removed

‘This all takes a toll on Mindy and I, especially around the holidays. I’m not sure yet what next year will look like for us. But I’m SO grateful that we were able to go on an international trip together as a family before all this happened.’

Last month, Daniel announced they were switching to hospice care ‘to make every day as enjoyable and peaceful as possible.’

She wrote: ‘Mindy and I are heartbroken as we watch him fall, we know how frustrating and scary it was for him. But we’re trying to keep it all together and enjoy the time we still have with our son.’

Daniel, who has 4 million followers on YouTube, canceled his tour in February to focus on Isaac’s health.
