221 Killed As Monsoon Rains Wreak Havoc In Pakistan | World News

In his latest report on Monday, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said that the wounded were recorded between 26 June and 21 July, and five new deaths and 10 injuries were reported in the last 24 hours.

Eastern Punjab province was the worst affected, 135 deaths and 470 injured. 46 people were killed in the province of Northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 69 people were injured.

22 deaths and 40 injuries were reported in Southern Sindh province, while Balochistan’s southwest province recorded 16 deaths and four injuries.

NDMA confirmed that a child was injured in the capital of Islamabad.

The authorities have published flood warnings and coordinated with provincial governments to perform aid operations and monitor vulnerable areas in the midst of ongoing rainfall.

While a permanent monsoon continued to wander on Pakistan, the authorities gave a series of warnings, mid -heavier rainfall warning, rising river flows and potential flash floods in vulnerable areas.

Pakistan’s NDMA and Punjab’s Provincial Disaster Management Institution (PDMA) residents urged to remain awake and avoid low and underwater areas.

Monsoon activity, which concentrates with moisture from the Arab Sea, remains active in Punjab, where intermittent rainfall in Lahor contributes to an increase in moisture levels.
