Britney Spears ‘used British accent and offered police lasagne’ during driving arrest
It was revealed that Britney Spears invited police officers to eat lasagna with her British accent when she was pulled over for erratic driving.
The 44-year-old pop singer was stopped on a highway in Southern California after driving his BMW convertible at ‘high speed’.
He appeared to be experiencing “drastic mood swings” and spoke “nonsense” at times, according to an arrest report and video published in The New York Times.
The police officer who arrested Ms. Spears wrote in his report that during the incident, she “changed from a confrontational and agitated mood to a showy and submissive mood.”
He added that ‘he also appeared to speak with a British accent at times’.
The singer was found with a bottle of Adderall (a stimulant containing amphetamines) that was not prescribed to her.
In the video footage, the mother-of-two tells officers she takes 200mg of Lamictal (the anti-epileptic drug) for ‘mood swings’ and Adderall to help her stay ‘high’.
He claimed in the report that he offered the officers a meal at his home and told them, “You can come to my house.” I’ll make you dinner… lasagna or whatever you want. ‘I have a pool.’

According to the California Highway Patrol, Spears was arrested “on suspicion of driving under the influence of a mixture of alcohol and drugs.”
The 44-year-old pop icon (pictured in 2019) was pursued by police after allegedly driving erratically at high speeds on the southbound side of US-101 near Newbury Park, California, around 9pm PT.
Ms. Spears told police she had only had one drink at the time of the incident in March: a mimosa six hours earlier. An empty wine glass was found in his car.
When asked if he was sober on a scale of zero to ten, he told officers, “I could probably drink four bottles of wine and take care of you.”
‘I’m an angel, zero.’
Spears became emotional when officers told her she had been arrested for DUI (drunk driving), insisting she was not drunk and accusing them of being ‘bad’.
He reached a plea deal this month, with prosecutors dropping the DUI charge and downgrading it to ‘wet recklessness’ involving alcohol.
He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 12 months probation and one day in jail, which counted towards time served.
He was also fined £425 and will attend a three-month DUI programme.
The troubled star, who checked herself into a substance abuse treatment center in April, has a long history of drug and alcohol problems dating back to the breakdown of her marriage to Kevin Federline in 2006.
He would often show up drunk while attending Hollywood celebrity parties.
In 2007, during a custody battle with Mr. Federline over her two children, she entered a rehabilitation center in Antigua but left within 24 hours.
Days later, she infamously shaved her head at a California beauty salon and attacked a photographer’s car with an umbrella.
In January 2008, Ms Spears suffered a major mental health crisis when she refused to hand over her children during a custody exchange and police took her to hospital for a ‘psychiatric evaluation’.
A conservatorship was soon established, giving her father, Jamie Spears, control over her finances.
In the images obtained by Daily Mail, he was seen to be handcuffed at many points.
Britney was taken to the CHP Moorpark Office for a Drug Recognition Evaluation before proceeding to Los Robles Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, California for a blood draw.
Mental health concerns, prescription drug abuse and allegations of substance abuse were key factors in the court’s decision.
In her 2023 memoir The Woman in Me, she admitted that Adderall was her ‘drug of choice’ in the mid-2000s, when she was heavily involved in partying.
He said he was never interested in ‘hard drugs’ and did not believe he had an alcohol problem.
He explained that Adderall made him feel ‘less depressed’ for a short time, and he became addicted to the feeling it gave him.
The latest incident comes five years after the conservatorship under her father ended after a long campaign by fans.
In 2007, Ms. Spears settled a hit-and-run lawsuit by paying damages after she was photographed driving her car into another vehicle.
She married her third husband, actor Sam Asghari, in 2022, but the couple divorced in 2024.
