Sam Altman says Meta offered $100 million bonuses to OpenAI employees

(Reuters) -Penai CEO Sam Altman, Meta, technology giant trying to increase the strategy of artificial intelligence, said his employees offers bonuses of $ 100 million.

Meta’s attempts to hire Openai employees are the latest signs of a madness to hire the best engineers to improve AI models, and they come at a time when the Facebook owner is trying to raise the super -unintention to catch up with competitors.

Meta did not respond immediately to the request for comments outside the normal working hours and could not verify the Reuters information.

Altman, “I heard Meta thinks us as his biggest rival.” He said.

His comments arrived just a few days after the Meta’s investment of $ 14.3 billion in the data labeling starting scale, and hired his best boss Alexandr Wang to lead the new super-equipment.

Once known as a leader in open -source AI models, Meta suffered from the separation of personnel and postponed the launch of new open -source AI models that could compete with China’s Deepseek and Openai.
