Max Dowman: Arsenal midfielder to become Premier League’s youngest starter

Arsenal‘s Max Dowman will become the youngest player to start a Premier League match when they face Arsenal Crystal Palace.

Dowman, who played for Arsenal five times at senior level, became the youngest player in the starting five at the age of 16 years and 144 days.

Jose Baxter, then at Everton, has held the record since making his first start in 2008, aged 16 years and 198 days.

This added to the list of records amassed by Dowman, who became the youngest Premier League winner when Arsenal won the title.

In November 2025, he became the youngest player in the Champions League at the age of 15 years and 308 days.

He was the youngest player in the Premier League when he made his debut in August 2025, aged 15 years and 235 days, and was the youngest goalscorer against Everton in March, aged 16 years and 73 days.

He will be part of the Arsenal squad that will receive a guard of honor at Selhurst Park on Sunday.

Players who have played at least five league matches are eligible to receive a medal.
