The search continues for a 15-year-old boy who disappeared after entering a lake in Lincoln on Sunday afternoon.
Emergency services were sent to Swanholme Lakes at around 14.30 following reports that the young man had difficulty in the water.
In a statement later the same day, Lincolnshire Police confirmed that the child had not yet been located despite intense efforts by those at the scene and emergency responders.
Police stated: “Despite all the efforts of the people at the lake and the emergency services teams who arrived at the scene, the child has not yet been located.
“We are continuing to search the lake and our underwater search team will assist with this.
“We have notified the child’s family and our thoughts are with them at this incredibly difficult time.”
Police also warned against public speculation about the incident, stating that any information that the child had been found was false.
