Iran deal could be a ‘lifeline’ for the regime, crown prince advisor warns

Expert says Iranian people’s ‘tense’ regime can get ‘lifeline’ with deal
Cameron Khansarinia, private secretary to exiled Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi, joins ‘Sunday Morning Futures’ to argue that President Donald Trump’s ‘maximum pressure’ campaign and military strikes have brought the Iranian regime to its knees, but the Iranian people remain skeptical that ‘dishonest brokers’ in Tehran will stick to a lasting peace deal.

An adviser to Iran’s exiled crown prince warned Sunday that a possible peace deal between President Donald Trump and what’s left of the Iranian regime could be a “lifeline” for Tehran, suggesting the regime wouldn’t abide by the deal anyway.
Cameron Khansarinia, private secretary to exiled Prince Reza Pahlavi, condemned the Islamic Republic and its “terrorist proxies” for decades of repression on “Sunday Morning Futures.”
“The people we talk to every day in the country are obviously worried. They are afraid that the regime, which has been holding them hostage for 47 years, will once again take over their lifeline,” he said.

He added that Iranians “will stand for nothing short of complete freedom” and that any agreement reached by the “criminal regime occupying the country” is illegitimate because “the Iranian people do not accept this regime.”
“So we’ll see what’s in the details, what’s in the details,” Khansarinia said. “But I think it’s important to remember that this regime will not abide by anything it agrees to.”

“It’s been proven for 47 years. They will lie, cheat and steal to stay in power and continue killing Iranians and unfortunately Americans.”
Trump said Sunday that talks with Iran were proceeding in an “orderly and constructive” manner but reiterated America’s hardline stance.
Trump reiterated his commitment to preventing the country from acquiring nuclear weapons, saying on Truth Social, “The blockade will remain in full force until an agreement is reached, ratified and signed. Both sides must hurry and do it right. There can be no mistakes! Our relationship with Iran is becoming much more professional and productive.” he wrote.
TRUMP SAID THE AGREEMENT TO END THE WAR WITH IRAN AND REOPEN HORUZ WAS ‘MAJORLY NEGOTIATED’
The president’s optimistic assessment came after a senior administration official told Fox News on Sunday that the United States might be willing to make “significant compromises” on sanctions relief for Iran if the country’s leaders were willing to provide similar facilities to the United States on enriched uranium.

Khansarinia took a less courageous view, saying the region found itself “on the verge of a major decision point.”
“Do we want to eventually push this regime to the brink? Do we want to empower the Iranian people to take back their country, or do we think that this regime, which I think we all understand as Iranians and Americans, will not comply?” he said.
