Brereton leaves NACC discredited. Labor must commit to integrity

Paul Brereton has now done what he had to do in October 2024 and resigned from the National Anti-Corruption Commission.

Good riddance.

NACC inspector Gail Furness SC in 2024 engaged in officer misconduct under NACC Act Regarding the commission’s initial refusal to investigate the robodebt scandal. Furness had also discovered – surprisingly – that the NACC had shared its draft explanation of why it refused to investigate robodebt with the perpetrators of this atrocity, soliciting their input.
