MEA issues BIG statement on Indian nurse jailed in Yemen, says, ‘We continue to…’

38 -year -old Nimisha from the Palakkad region of Kerala was trained as a nurse and moved to Yemen in 2008.

On Tuesday, the Indian government said that Nimisha Priya provided all the necessary assistance to the nurse to her family. Nimisha from Kerala is during the death in Yemen for the murder, and the execution was postponed only the day before the planning to take place on July 16th. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA) called the case “sensitive” and said the government was in contact with the situation “friendly”.

“This is a delicate issue and the Indian government offers all possible help in the case. We provided legal assistance and appointed a lawyer to help the family. We also organized regular consular visits and constantly touched on the issue with local authorities and family members.” The authority added that Nimisha’s family has been guaranteed more time to reach a solution with the victim’s family. “We continue to follow the issue closely and give all possible help.” He said.

What is Nimisha Priya’s case?
38 -year -old Nimisha from the Palakkad Region of Kerala was trained as a nurse and moved to Yemen in 2008. In 2014, Nimisha opened his clinic in partnership with the National Talal Abdo Mahdi of Yemen, as Mandate established a local partnership to start a business. However, Nimisha had a spreader with Mahdi, then filed a complaint against him. Mahdi, who was arrested but finally released from prison, continued to threaten him. Nimisha’s family says that he has injected a calming down to Mahdi to save his seized passport. However, the overdose of the sedatives led to death. He was arrested while trying to escape from the country and was convicted of murder in 2018. Nimisha is currently in a prison in Yemen, Sana’a.
