Prince Harry’s ‘tragic moneymaking scam’ revealed | Royal | News

Prince Harry was criticized for the “tragic money-making scam” he shared in his 2023 memoir titled Spare. The 41-year-old has published his explosive memoir three years after quitting his senior job as a royal staffer and moving with his family to start a new life in America.

Retired army veteran Colonel Tim Collins recently spoke to Forces News about a private admission in his memoirs that led to him accusing the royal of “failing badly”. Harry wrote about how he killed 25 people during his time serving in Afghanistan.

The royal served in the military for 10 years, and the announcement of the end of his service came in 2015, a year before he met Meghan Markle.

Speaking to the publication about Harry’s comments, the retired veteran said: “Among his allegations is that he killed 25 people in Afghanistan. That’s not how you act in the army, and we don’t think like that.”

“He brought his side down badly. We don’t make dents in rifle stocks. We never did.”

She later accused Harry of engaging in a “tragic money-making scam to fund the lifestyle he cannot afford”.

The veteran added: “I’ve never heard anyone talk about kill numbers, it’s so rude and frankly shameful. Taking a life is the most serious thing you can do in operations, serious people don’t talk about it as a ploy to change a few books.”

Harry stepped away from royal life with his wife, Meghan Markle, in 2020.

The couple moved to California with Prince Archie later that year, before welcoming Princess Lilibet the following year.

Along with the hardcover version, Harry also published a paperback version of Spare in 2024; The bonus episode was not included.
