Jemele Hill’s sidekick Cari Champion finally admits she ‘doesn’t like’ WNBA star Caitlin Clark

There was a time when the bad girls of the WNBA and sports media denied their disdain for Caitlin Clark. “Nobody likes Caitlin. We’re just telling the truth,” they’d say.
Now some are openly bragging about it.
Former ESPN host and failed broadcaster Carl Champion admitted as much during a podcast with Jemele Hill this week.
“This kind of blatant favoritism bothers me terribly,” Champion said. in question Discussing Clark ignoring the controversy surrounding his recent scrapes in last week’s home game.
“I don’t know if it’s his fault because it might be unfair for me to say it’s his fault. But at the same time, why is he getting this special treatment? This is just another example of how much the league and its fans value him.”
Champion later admitted that he did not like Clark as a person.
“The more I catch those looks from Caitlin Clark, the more I think, ‘I don’t like you. I don’t like the way you act on the court,'” Champion said.
But what about the players who targeted Clark with cheap shots, hard fouls and obvious resentment?

Champion specifically says he doesn’t like Clark’s “entitlements.”
“The way you act, that right, the way you talk to your coaches… you enjoy it. So if that’s what you like, if you want to be the bad guy, if you want to be the tough guy, so be it. Because we come to you the same way we can attack others.”
But you’re not.
Like most self-described WNBA analysts, Champion values nearly every player except Clark; Including Angel Reese and DiJonai Carrington, both of whom are clearly positioned against him.

Amusingly, Champion is known as Jemele Hill’s sidekick. But in many ways he is even less loved.
Hill plays a character. His anger toward white athletes, voters, and America often feels performance-oriented. Off camera, Hill chooses to work, socialize, and live around the very people he publicly condemns.
Champion, on the other hand, looks really tough.

That reputation followed him to ESPN, where his colleagues often viewed him as miserable and difficult. He also seems deeply disappointed by his lack of success in sports media.
OutKick has reached out to Champion for comment. We’ll update this story if he responds.
In recent years, Champion has attempted to branch out into political commentary on CNN. The transition did not go well. He routinely appears unprepared and uninformed when discussing real-world political issues.
Here’s an example from a debate with a CNN conservative commentator:
It’s not great.
In many ways, Champion himself comes across as the same term he used to denigrate Clark.

Still, we appreciate her admitting she “didn’t like” Clark. Next time the bad girls insist that no one dissed the Firekeeper, we can point to the Champion’s own words.
Now we know for sure that Carl Champion knows this.
