Weather models show morning temperatures could soon drop as low as 2C in parts of the UK, although the country is still trying to recover from a record-breaking May heatwave.
The Met Office reported that high temperatures of 29 degrees are possible in the southern regions today and tomorrow, while 24 degrees are expected in the northern regions on both days. Highest temperatures are then expected to drop to around 20-22 degrees across much of the UK on Sunday and Monday.
But the GFS weather model suggests a much more dramatic drop may not be too far off. On June 11, morning temperatures could drop to 3°C in Scotland and Wales, 4°C in Northern Ireland, 5°C in the north of England and just 6°C to 7°C in the Midlands.
Meanwhile, low temperatures of 2C are possible in northern Scotland, 4C in the north of England, 5C in Wales and 6C to 7C in the Midlands and Northern Ireland on 12 June.
Maps show only a few counties, predominantly in the south and east, are likely to see temperatures in the double digits at 6 a.m. on both days.

Met Office’s latest weather forecast The Met Office’s latest forecast shows that tonight will be dry across much of the country, with patches of fog likely to form in the south-west in the early hours. Rain is expected to fall in the northwestern parts at dawn.
On Saturday the national weather agency predicts the rain will fall eastwards across Scotland and Northern Ireland, then move into England and Wales by the evening. Sunny breaks are expected across the UK ahead of the upcoming rains.
The Met Office adds: “Sunday is fresher for everyone with sunshine and showers. Monday and Tuesday are unsettled with heavy showers, longer spells of rain and possible gusty winds.”
