Properties worth ₹2 crore linked to drug trafficking attached in J&K

Properties worth around ₹2 crore, allegedly acquired using proceeds from illegal narcotics smuggling, have been seized as part of an intense crackdown on drug networks in Jammu and Kashmir, the police said on Saturday (May 30, 2026).
Srinagar police have seized several immovable properties belonging to persons involved in narcotics-related activities under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, a police spokesperson said.

The spokesman said that in the first case, Bemina Police Station had attached immovable property worth around ₹ 1.5 crore of an alleged drug dealer named Mudasir Ahmad Pir alias Sahil alias Doge, a resident of Firdous Colony in Bemina here.

The seizure was effected under Section 68F(1) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act after obtaining approval from the Competent Authority under the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Property) Act (SAFEMA) of the Revenue Department of the Ministry of Finance. He said the attached property consists of about four marla of land along with a two-storey residential house. He added that investigations revealed that the property was acquired with proceeds from illegal drug trafficking.
In a separate action, Srinagar police seized a residence and land worth around ₹ 50 lakh belonging to alleged drug dealer Shafiq Ahmad Khawaja, a resident of Dildar Karnah in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. The property has FIR No. registered at MR Gunj Police Station under Sections 8/21-29 of the NDPS Act. He said that it has been seized under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, 1985 in connection with Case 10/2024.

The spokesman said the foreclosure proceedings in both cases were carried out after following the necessary legal procedures and determining that the properties were acquired with the proceeds of illegal drug trafficking.
