Pro wrestling star Killer Kross shares sweet moment when cat came into his life

Killer Kross is known as a terror in the ring, perhaps even a “killer”.
He devoted his blood and guts to that circle for his entire professional wrestling career, fending off dozens of other men at Battle Riot VIII in January to become the Major League Wrestling (MLW) world heavyweight champion.
Even though he is a nightmare for his opponents, he has a heart of gold.

Kross signed on for an interview with Fox News Digital to talk about MLW’s new partnership with Veeps. During the conversation, Kross’ cat jumped into his lap. Naturally the next question was about the animal.
He talked about how he and his wife, professional wrestler Scarlett Bordeaux, introduced the cat into their lives. He said he was allergic to cats all his life.
“So I’m allergic to cats, even deathly allergic. My wife and I noticed a kitten on our doorstep about a year and a half ago,” Kross said. “And every once in a while we’d see stray cats around. Even when we were traveling in Thailand, there were dogs everywhere. We always, I don’t know, man, always felt like we had to feed them. So there was this kitten on our doorstep. Clearly a stray cat. He didn’t have a leash. You could tell. The whole thing was awful.”
“And he put some tuna for this cat. We’ve done this before. We hadn’t seen the cat for like a week or two. The cat came back and we were like, damn it. It still doesn’t have a home, it’s still alive. We started seeing the cat whenever we saw it – it wasn’t every day in the beginning – but whenever we saw it, we’d step on it. Then he starts bringing mouse pieces and starts leaving them at the door. You know how they say, Like, do they bring you gifts? … I had to call. I didn’t know anything about cats. If you come into contact with a cat, you get hives.” “If I did, I’d end up going to the hospital.”

Kross said they quickly encountered a scary situation, the tornado, where they felt they had to keep the cat as safe as possible.
“And there was a tornado. We said, ‘I’d love to bring it home, but you know what it is,’ and he said, ‘Yeah, I know.’ This thing got stuck on our doorstep during the tornado,” he told Fox News Digital. “We felt so bad, but my wife bought a house for it. She bought cat structures and toys that she could attach her claws to. She arranged it so she could live at the front door so she wouldn’t die in the hurricane. She stayed there. She went inside the house and stuff. She lived at our front door for about six months.”
“Again, I can’t touch this thing. And one day, I’m sitting there and making sure it’s comfortable and eating and starting to walk along my leg. So I decided to pet it — I got some hives. Eventually after a while, I wasn’t getting hives on my hand anymore. Then one day, the thing got attacked. It’s bleeding everywhere. We don’t know what it is.”
Kross said they had to take the cat to a veterinarian and spent a lot of money making sure the animal was happy, healthy and comfortable.
“So I paid thousands of dollars to take him to a vet. He let me take him, a stray by the way. He was very friendly with us. He didn’t act like a stray dog, which is weird. So we took him to the vet. We got blood tested. There were no blood-borne pathogens. He didn’t have any disease or anything. He paid for the surgery — thousands of dollars,” she told Fox News Digital. “We had to put a cone on his head. We can’t let a stray get up there with a cone on his head. So we cleared out a room in our house and set it up with an automatic litter box and everything. We have two dogs; the dogs love cats.”

“They all sleep together, they sleep together, they play together. And the dogs would let us know when the cat was at the front door when it was loose. And every once in a while, we’d take the dog out, hold the dogs, and he’d come up to the cat, so they could all just kind of be at a distance. But now the cat lives with us, and I’m not allergic to the cat anymore. I don’t know what happened. It was the first time he had a cat in my life. He’s such a funny personality. Sometimes you don’t think he’s listening, but he knows exactly what you’re saying, and he follows the instructions and takes it in the backyard.” When I call, the cat comes in. Cats and dogs have a great routine.

“Killer” may be Kross’ gimmick in the ring, but he’s far from it outside of the ring.
