Cyberabad She Teams nabs 29 offenders in decoy operations

29 people who were committing indecent acts in public places were arrested by Cyberabad She Teams during 104 decoy operations last week.

According to the Women and Child Safety Wing, 37 minor cases were registered against the criminals, while the remaining people were counselled. In the same period, She Teams received 20 complaints from women through various channels and took the necessary actions.

Cyberabad Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) rescued four victims and arrested one accused in a case registered under the Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act (PITA).

Authorities also helped resolve disputes between spouses by facilitating the reunion of 39 families through counseling conducted at Family Counseling Centers and Centers for Domestic and Women’s Empowerment (CDEW).

As part of awareness and preventive initiatives, AHTU and SHE Teams organized programs across Siberabad Commission, reaching 1,844 participants. In the sessions, topics such as human trafficking, child trafficking, housebreaking, harassment on social media, child marriages, children’s rights, child labor, stalking, begging, cyber bullying and cyber fraud were discussed. Participants were also trained about emergency helplines such as Women’s Helpline 181, Childline 1098, Dial 100 and Cyber ​​Crimes Helpline 1930.

An interactive session was held

Meanwhile, the Cyberabad police and the Cyberabad Security Council Society (SCSC), Thomson Reuters International Services Pvt. Ltd. organized an interactive awareness session under its “Bring Your Child to Work” initiative in Madhapur on Friday.

More than 50 children aged between 8 and 15 attended the program with their parents. Speaking at the meeting, K. Srujana, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Women and Child Safety Wing, shared her professional experiences and encouraged children to achieve their goals safely. He also underlined the role of police as accessible guardians of society and urged children to seek help when they need it.

Sessions on personal security, stranger awareness, cyber security and responsible use of social media were also held at the event. Interactive activities involving children and parents were held to reinforce safety messages while encouraging communication and family bonds.

The initiative aims to raise child safety awareness and strengthen engagement among law enforcement, corporate organizations and families, officials said.
