Africa to be hit hard as UK foreign aid cuts revealed

The government has announced the details of the plans to reduce foreign aids that face the biggest discounts with the education of children and support for women’s health in Africa.

In February, the government said it would reduce 40% of the defense expenditures to 2.5% after the US pressure from the US to 2.5%, from 0.5% to 0.3%, it would reduce its foreign aid expenditures by 40%.

The report and impact assessment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs show that the biggest deductions of this year will come in Africa, which is less spent on women’s health and water sanitation, and there are risks with increasing risks of illness and death.

Bond, a Network of the United Kingdom aid organizations, said that women and children in the most marginal communities will pay the highest price.

Less support to Africa, including major interruptions in children’s education, will decrease by 21% despite the promises of financing for occupied Palestinian regions.

However, the government said it would be protected to multilateral aid bodies – including the money – Gavi vaccine alliance given to international organizations such as the World Bank, and that Britain will continue to play an important human role in hot points such as Gaza, Ukraine and Sudan.

“Every pound should work harder for taxpayers and people we help around the world, and these figures show how we have started to do this with a clear focus and priorities,” said Development Minister Baroness Chapman.

The government said that deductions follow a strategic strategic strategic review of a strategic strategic examination “, which focuses on” priority, efficiency, planned human support support and protecting live contracts while responsible for programming when necessary.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that some countries will go directly to the receiving country – bilateral support will decrease and multilateral organizations thought to perform low performance will face future financing cuts. He has not yet announced which countries will be affected.

Bond announced that the government is a funding for the countries that experienced humanitarian crises such as education, gender and South Sudan, Ethiopia and Somalia, and the countries where the Palestinian regions of the occupied Palestinian regions and the countries will be protected.

Bond Policy Director Gideon Rabinowitz, “Africa, gender, education and health programs for bilateral financing will fall,” he said.

“The world’s most marginalized communities, especially conflict and living communities, will pay the highest price for these political elections.

“At a time when the United States disrupts all gender programming, England does not step back, withdrawal should be withdrawn.”

Foreign aid has been under intensive examination with a cabinet minister in recent years. Accepting the people no longer supports spending on him.

An organization that escaped from deductions was the World Bank. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the International Development Association (IDA), the Fund of the World Bank for the world’s lowest income countries, will receive £ 1.98 billion funds from the UK in the next three years and that the organization will benefit 1.9 billion people.

Sir Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, led workers’ governments have committed to increasing the overseas aid budget to 0.7% of the national income.

The target was reached under the conservative-liberal democratic coalition government of David Cameron before being involved in law in 2015 in 2015.

However, aid expenditures fell to 0.5% of national income under conservatives in 2021 and accused Covid’s economic pressure.
