Traffic constable’s act of kindness amid flooded road wins hearts online

A video of a traffic policeman helping a physically challenged person stranded in the middle of a severely waterlogged road during rain on Friday went viral and received widespread public praise.

The Bengaluru Traffic Police often attracts negative attention on social media for traffic jams, mid-road challenges and getting caught in heated arguments with citizens. But this video reflects another side of the police department.

In the video, a traffic officer identified as Anil from Byatarayanapura Traffic Police Station, dressed in an orange raincoat, is seen trying to help a physically challenged person cross the road. However, the person has difficulty walking because the road is flooded up to knee level and the water is flowing rapidly. The police officer then picks him up on his shoulder and carries him safely to the other side.

Many social media users shared the video with titles such as “Sometimes heroes don’t wear capes”, “The other face of the police”, “When humanity wins”.
