Miami airport heat emergency: Four hospitalised aboard ICE-linked Global X charter flight
A charter plane reportedly linked to US immigration enforcement has become the center of a medical emergency in Florida after several people were hospitalized during a sweltering ordeal on the tarmac.
Emergency crews rushed to Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport on Thursday after several people on board the Global X flight fell ill in what officials described as a heat-related incident.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to reports of passengers experiencing medical issues on the grounded plane after an apparent air conditioning malfunction made conditions inside the plane dangerously hot.

People It was reported that emergency vehicles surrounded the Global X branded plane while first responders were working on the tarmac. It was reported that some people were removed from the plane on stretchers, while others were helped off the plane before being transferred to another plane.
The incident drew increased scrutiny due to the plane’s connection to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
A Miami-Dade Aviation Department spokesperson confirmed that the air conditioning malfunction occurred on a Global X charter flight, an airline that frequently contracts with ICE and is regularly used for deportation and immigration enforcement operations.
Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport is also widely used for immigration-related flights.
Authorities have not confirmed whether Thursday’s flight was used for deportation purposes or whether there were any detainees, crew or standard passengers on board.
However, the presence of an IYM vehicle at the scene and the known role of the aircraft in immigration operations rapidly increased questions on the internet regarding the nature of the flight.
The plane was scheduled to go to Alexandria, Louisiana.
According to local officials, the resulting emergency triggered a significant response involving Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office and ICE personnel.
While authorities provided limited information about the health conditions of those hospitalized, immigration officials said they were reviewing the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The disruption extended far beyond medical attention.
Flight tracking data shows the plane was delayed more than five hours before leaving Miami at 18:40 local time.
