DK Shivakumar Lashes Out For Shifting IPL Final Venue to Ahmedabad

Karnataka chief ministerial candidate DK Shivakumar on Sunday slammed the Indian Premier League (IPL) organizers for shifting the venue of the final to Ahmedabad, saying it was unfair to Karnataka and alleged that the move was politically motivated, according to news agency PTI.

“The IPL final match should have been held in Bengaluru. We were treated unfairly. They held the match at a different venue due to politics. I will not talk much about this issue,” he told reporters.

He also congratulated Royal Challengers Bengaluru on their second consecutive IPL title victory. “On behalf of RCB fans in Karnataka and the state government, I congratulate them,” he said.

In a separate post on X, Shivakumar said he praised RCB for the achievement and saluted the players, support staff and fans for the victory.

“Tonight, Bengaluru rises again as champions! This year too, the trophy is ours. RCB created history by clinching the IPL title for the second consecutive time. With courage, composure and the heart of true champions, the team has made Bengaluru proud once again.

“We congratulate the players, coaches, support staff and millions of fans who have been with the team every step of the way.” he wrote to X.

Star batsman Virat Kohli consolidated the challenge with an unbeaten run of 75 as RCB secured another historic victory.
