James Van Der Beek’s ex-wife Heather McComb married Scott Michael Campbell in Missoula, Montana, on Saturday, three months after the Dawson’s Creek actor’s death.

McComb, 49, told her more than 15,400 followers on Instagram about her Midwestern wedding ceremony. Includes a slideshow of images from his special day.

He said he feels his health is improving, but fighting cancer is “a longer journey than ever before.” [he] I never thought it would happen.”

James, 48, is survived by his children with Kimberly: Olivia, 15, Joshua, 14, Annabel, 12, Emilia, 10, Gwendolyn, 7, and Jeremiah, 4.

Kimberly shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram at the time: ‘Our beloved James David Van Der Beek passed away peacefully this morning.

‘He faced his final days with courage, faith and grace. He has a lot to share about his wishes, his love for people, and the sanctity of time. Those days will come.’

She concluded: ‘We ask for peace and privacy for now as we grieve our loving husband, father, son, brother and friend.’
