Cory Booker says he has ‘concerns’ over Maine Democrat Graham Platner

Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., admitted Sunday that he has “concerns” about recent scandals involving Graham Platner, the Maine Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate.

Appearing on ABC’s “This Week,” Booker was asked about the latest scandal that has rocked Platner’s campaign after it was reported that Platner sent explicit messages to at least six women despite being married.

“Do you have concerns about the gravity of all this debate that it could jeopardize Democrats’ hopes of taking a Senate seat in Maine?” host Jonathan Karl asked Booker.

“Yes, I have concerns,” Booker said. “This man has questions to answer, and that’s what campaigns are for.”

Booker then returned to discussing his concerns about the Democratic Party’s failure to take back the Senate in 2026.

“I know it depends on the Democrats gaining control of the Senate,” Booker said. “If we don’t get the votes necessary to handle the business of the House and Senate in this election, we will continue to live with an out-of-control president.”

Fox News Digital has reached out to Platner’s campaign for comment.

Platner’s campaign confirmed the text exchange to Politico following a report in the Wall Street Journal alleging that he mentioned the texts to a campaign aide as they began exploring potential political liabilities after his wife, Amy Gertner, launched her Senate bid.

After the story went viral, Gertner released a five-minute video statement defending her husband and his campaign.

“This really makes me angry and frustrated and I find it really shameful that there are a bunch of media outlets and people willing to spread rumors instead of talking about the real issues that Graham is working on like health care, education and child care,” Gertner said.

Platner had faced a number of controversies before this; these included a tattoo resembling a now-covered Nazi symbol, past controversial comments on Reddit minimizing sexual assault and making vulgar remarks about masturbation, and a deleted post in which he claimed a wounded soldier “didn’t deserve to live.”
