Taylor Swift announces new single for Toy Story 5 soundtrack | Taylor Swift
After days of speculation online, Taylor Swift has announced the release of a new original song for Toy Story 5.
The single, titled I Knew It, I Knew You, will be released on June 5, and the CD singles will be available for pre-order on Swift’s website. Three versions will be available, each containing different versions of the song: piano version, acoustic version and original version.

“I’ve always dreamed of writing for these characters I’ve admired since I watched the first Toy Story movie as a 5-year-old,” Swift added. “When I was lucky enough to see Toy Story 5 in its early stages, I instantly fell in love and wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening. You know sometimes, right?”
Swift co-wrote the song with her long-time collaborator Jack Antonoff. Press release. I Knew You, I Knew You would mark Swift’s return to the country genre and was inspired by the film’s cowgirl character, Jessie.
“It’s incredible how meaningful Taylor wrote and sang this song,” said Andrew Stanton, director of Toy Story 5. “His connection to Jessie and his immediate understanding of what the character was going through was undeniable.
“The song has a very deep connection to Toy Story,” he said. “So much so that upon first listen, I felt like I always belonged there, like a long-lost family member. It was kismet.”
The single will be Swift’s first new music since the release of her record-breaking album The Life of a Showgirl in October 2025. video For Elizabeth Taylor, the single consisted of archive footage of the legendary actor.
