Rep. Andy Ogles reprimands comms staffer over social media post

GOP Rep. Andy Ogles of Tennessee said a communications staffer was reprimanded after making a “stupid” and “hurtful” social media post.
“Earlier today, while I was working on the farm, my phone started going crazy over a post from a member of my communications team. The post was stupid, hurtful, and completely distracting from my America First focus. The employee was reprimanded,” Ogles said. to mail Tuesday night.
The House Republican appears to be referring to a post on the @RepOgles X account that reads, “Homosexuality has no place in America. Happy Nuclear Family Month.”

Governor Bill Lee signed a resolution allowing the Tennessee state legislature to designate June 2026 as “Nuclear Family Month.”

Republican Rep. Mike Lawler of New York said, “Homosexuality exists. It’s in America. In fact, Andy, you have family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, and gay and lesbian constituents. That doesn’t make them less than or somehow worthy of being Americans. What a stupid statement.” wrote In X.
Ogles’ post appears to have been deleted from X.
On Monday, Lawler wished “Happy Pride Month” to those celebrating in June.
