Cockroach Janta Party Backed By Urban Naxals: Telangana BJP Chief

Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao on Thursday alleged that groups like CJP are supported by “urban naxals” and organizations like AAP. Claiming that Generation Z identifies itself with Indian morality, he said that the country’s youth will not fall into the trap of people allegedly supported by international investor and philanthropist George Soros and others like him.

Rao was speaking at the ‘Meet the Press’ event organized by Hyderabad Press Club on the occasion of Telangana Formation Day.

Youth has the right to struggle on problems. There are many student organizations. I am not saying that every student should follow BJP or ABVP. Cockroach Janata Party is not a new phenomenon,” Rao said.

“It was created by people associated with parties like Aam Aadmi Party. They are trying to spread certain narratives through social media. Their presence is limited to social media and they have no real grassroots base,” he alleged.

The satirical platform emerged following a controversy over remarks attributed to Chief Justice of India Surya Kant about “cockroaches” and “parasites” during a hearing on “senior” appointment of lawyers.

The CJI later clarified that his observations on individuals entering the legal profession with “fake and bogus degrees” had been misquoted.

What started as an online satire project has since evolved into a broader conversation about digital dissent and youth disillusionment; The platform uses memes and sharp political commentary to tackle issues such as unemployment, exam paper leaks and education.

When asked whether the BJP will contest alone or enter into alliances for the upcoming elections to the three municipal corporations in Hyderabad, Rao said the party’s national leadership will take a decision on alliances.

“In terms of our current stance, we will fight alone. But we need the support of the entire people for our victory. Alliances and other issues will be decided by the party’s national leadership,” he said. Elections to Greater Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri municipal corporations are expected to be held later this year.

Rao alleged that the ruling Congress and the opposition BRS are trying to raise sentiment in the Telangana region as they lack confidence in winning public support based on their performance.

Referring to the recent opposition of some Congress leaders and opinion makers against a meeting proposed to be held by Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and subsequent denial of permission by the police, Rao said the event should be allowed.

He also questioned why BRS formed an alliance with AIMIM, which opposes the Telangana state, and why, while in power, he included leaders in his cabinet who opposed the formation of the state.
