Princess Anne melts hearts with surprise gesture at event | Royal | News

Princess Anne melted hearts after making a kind gesture during a show in London on Wednesday. The Princess Royal was spotted leaving St Olave’s Church following the Trinitytide anniversary annual court meeting and lunch. Anne wore her ceremonial naval uniform in her role as Chief of the Trinity House Company.
In a video currently going viral on social media Marks London reelsAnne is seen asking for an umbrella to give to the female clergyman walking next to her.
The princess, who handed over the umbrella to the woman, continues walking without being affected by the heavy rain.
Royal fans showered Anne with praise and expressed their opinions on social media.
One user wrote to X: “What a sweet gesture he made [teary-eyed emoji]”
A second user commented: “What a soldier he is. He comes to do his duty no matter what the weather. Also, I can easily understand why he gave the umbrella to the priest wearing long formal church clothes.”
The third said: “I wish he was born first, he would be second after his mother.” A fourth added: “Princess Royal is the crème de la crème of the Royal family in my opinion. She is an absolute star.”
A fifth shouted: “HRH is pure class.” A sixth person later said: “She is such an inspiring member of the Royal Family. So many people could learn so much from Anne.”
Last year alone, his brother the King made the most engagements in 2025.
The mother may have worked more days last year but ultimately took on fewer duties than the monarch, who is still being treated for cancer.
