‘I parked on neighbour’s drive – it’s not a big deal but his reaction left me shocked’ | UK | News

An angry homeowner was caught on camera trying to storm his neighbor’s property, demanding he “fight like a man” in what was described as a “tiny” parking space. Ashley Stephenson was home with her 14-year-old daughter when a neighbor answered her door on Monday, May 11.

The 41-year-old man claimed he left his car outside his neighbor’s house for “less than 10 minutes” after returning from a shopping trip when there was an angry knock on his door. The father-of-one insists he left room for his neighbor to move his own car out of the parking lot and claims he had every intention of changing his car when he brought his shopping inside. Explosive doorbell footage captures the heated moment the disgruntled neighbor confronted Ashley over the parking dispute.

When Ashley simply tells her unwelcome visitor to “go away”, the angry neighbor flies into a rage and tries to storm the property.

As the homeowner slams the door, the angry man yells at Ashley to get out and “fight like a man.” Fearing her neighbor would “attack” her, Ashley said she closed her front door and contacted police about the fight.

Engineer Ashley described the confrontation as “scary”, saying the ordeal frightened her daughter. After the clip was shared on social media, viewers described the man’s behavior as “disgusting”.

While some said this was a “trivial” thing to be so angry about, others blamed Ashley and said she “should stop parking people’s cars so she doesn’t let people get frustrated.”

Ashley, who lives in Humberside, Hull, said: “I always knew parking was a bit of an issue there. It was so bad I bought a Smart car.

“Then on May 11 there was nowhere to park. I had just gone shopping, so I thought of parking there to bring my shopping. I parked where there was a low curb. [outside his house]. This is a public road.

“It was less than 10 minutes before the car was there. I was planning on moving it. I parked it so it could get in and out if necessary. I knew I wasn’t blocking anything or causing any problems.”

But just 10 minutes later, Ashley said her Ring doorbell alerted her to a visitor, and she captured the moment her neighbor encountered her in the parking lot.

In the footage, the neighbor says: ‘Why are you parking in front of my garden?’ and scolds the driver for doing so.

Ashley became impatient and told him to “go away”, which caused the enraged man to lose his rag and tried to break into Ashley’s house, shouting “fuck” and “fight like a man”.

Ashley said: “He came in with guns blazing around. He started banging on the windows. I was surprised by that. I thought, ‘Why are you at 11? It’s nothing.’

“I had no interaction with him other than asking him to move his car once. He started coming towards the porch, but when he forced himself in, I forced the door towards him and closed the door.

“He wanted to attack me. I had terrified young children at home. If I had not managed to close that door, he would have been in my house and attacked me.

“My daughter was very scared. She was walking around the house, checking the front door. This behavior is terrifying. You don’t fire the shots at first, you just say, ‘Can you move your car?’ you ask.

“This was absolutely inappropriate. I couldn’t understand why he came with such anger.”

Humberside Police said officers were present at around 7.30pm on Monday, May 11, 2026, following reports of a fight.

It was learned that two people who knew each other had a verbal argument over parking space. After speaking to both parties, the police said; A safe solution has been reached.
