The Independent is launching a new campaign on Europe – and we want you to join us

I I am writing to you about the impact of the Brexit vote, the most important national debate we have had in the last 10 years, and our relationship with Europe. Far from resolving the debates, the past decade has been marked by even greater disagreement and division. On: IndependentWe want to find a better way forward – and we want you to join us as we launch a new editorial campaign to rebuild Britain’s relationship with Europe, bringing you the news, insight and expertise that will shape the debate.
The world is changing rapidly and Britain’s relationship with Europe is crucial. Russia is waging a war on the continent, economies are about to be transformed by artificial intelligence, and the established world order has been disrupted by Donald Trump.
That’s why we’re bringing you a new editorial focus on what needs to happen next and how new alliances with our European neighbors can create a more prosperous and more secure UK. These are the key questions at the heart of our Europe: The Way Back sherry.
During the referendum, Independent He campaigned for a second vote so the public could have their say on what Brexit should actually mean. Ten years later, this is not a return to old debates or an attempt to ignore a democratic decision. This is about the future and how we repair the damage done over the last decade to create a better future.
We will bring you expert opinions, news and analysis that will reflect and provoke debate about where our relationship with Europe goes next. We will be publishing a new newsletter that reflects our thinking and creates a new community of readers who, like us, want to build better relationships with our neighbors. And we’ll host live events where you can ask the questions that matter most to you.
From trade and investment to defense and security, from the free movement of young people to scientific cooperation, from combating migration to responding to economic uncertainty, closer cooperation is hard to ignore. But the decisions to get there are complex and need to be discussed to be right.
We’ll bring you the views of leading politicians, thinkers, business leaders and advocates for a different path forward, and examine the evidence and ideology that will help us get there.
The debates about Europe are not over. It has entered a new phase. We hope you will join us as we launch Europe: The Way of Return.
