Top Gun: Maverick actor James Handy ‘stabbed to death by his girlfriend’s son’ as terrifying 911 call is released

Actor James Handy, who starred in numerous films including Jumanji and Top Gun: Maverick, was brutally stabbed to death in the front yard of his home on Wednesday.
His girlfriend’s son, 44-year-old Michael Gledhill, later allegedly told the cops that he was the suspect they were looking for and was arrested for the actor’s murder. California Post.
The chilling chain of events began when Los Angeles police said they received a disturbing call around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The caller told the police, “I am a human being, I just killed the man who committed a sin.”
Officers then went to Handy’s home on Erwin Street in Tarzana, where they found the 81-year-old unconscious in the front yard with at least one stab wound in his chest.
Handy was later taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect then allegedly flagged down the responding officers and said he was the person they were looking for.
Investigators said Gledhill lived at the home with his mother, but the motive for the stabbing remained unclear.
Gledhill is currently being held on a $2 million bond.

Handy’s other film credits include his role as the doctor who treats Hugh Jackman’s main character in Logan.
Handy was pictured in an episode of ABC’s hit show Castle, one of his many on-screen appearances throughout his five-decade career.
Handy was born in New York and made his big screen debut in 1977 in Taps on ABC’s Ryan’s Hope.
He last appeared in Top Gun: Maverick.
Handy’s other credits include playing the doctor who treats Hugh Jackman’s title character in Logan, and in the 1995 hit Jumanji, Handy played the destroyer.
The actor also had recurring roles on Melrose Place and NYPD Blue, and appeared on other television shows such as The West Wing, Castle, and The X-Files.
His career dates back to the 1970s and includes more than 100 acting credits.
