Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor seen with large mystery bruise across his face

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was photographed with a large purple bruise across his right eye and cheek.

It’s unclear how the 66-year-old got the mark, but according to reports, it’s believed to be the result of a non-serious medical condition.

The disgraced former prince got behind the wheel of his car as he left Sandringham Estate with another man on Thursday.

Mr Mountbatten-Windsor’s appearance comes after it was revealed that the former Duke of York had sublet three properties within the Royal Lodge estate despite paying “pepper rent”.

An investigation by the National Audit Office found Mr Mountbatten-Windsor’s lease with The Crown Estate allowed him to rent three of the eight cottages while he resided in the 30-bedroom mansion.

Following the publication of the NAO report, Rachael Maskell, Labor MP for York Central, said: “Every revelation about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor shows how he led to depravity [sic] alienated him from his position and used it for his own benefit at the expense of others. “It’s frustrating that he’s only paid a peppercorn rent while people are struggling to pay their rent.”

The investigations into Lord Peter Mandelson and Mr Mountbatten-Windsor could take more than a year to be completed, the director of public prosecutions said on Thursday.

Speaking about the investigations into Mr Mountbatten-Windsor and Lord Peter Mandelson, Stephen Parkinson said: “I really don’t think anyone should expect the investigation to conclude prematurely.

“It would not be surprising if it took more than a year, not because of lack of urgency but because of the complexity; also the international dimension is an extra factor to consider; although in some cases you can get the evidence back within an hour, this is not always the case and sometimes formal procedures involving the courts have to be carried out and this can cause significant delays, it is very complex, time consuming, but there is no lack of urgency in this case.”

Mr Mountbatten-Windsor reportedly wanted his taxpayer-funded security team reinstated after the shooting. Telegram clarified.

King Charles withdrew his brother’s private funding for the security operation at his home in 2024.

The former Duke of York was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office following allegations that he passed sensitive government information to pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Thames Valley Police is also investigating Mr Mountbatten-Windsor over allegations of sexual misconduct in its investigation into possible misconduct in public office.

Mr Mountbatten-Windsor has been contacted for comment.
