Shreyas Iyer Captain, Tilak Varma Vice-Captain for Asian Games 2026

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced a 15-man men’s squad for the 2026 Asian Games in Japan; Shreyas Iyer was appointed captain and Tilak Varma was appointed vice-captain.
The squad includes a mix of experienced international players and emerging talent. Wicketkeepers Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan have been included while Jasprit Bumrah will lead the pace attack along with Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana.
The batting unit consists of Shreyas Iyer, Tilak Varma, Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Shivam Dube. The all-round department will be strengthened by Axar Patel and Washington Sundar.
The spin attack was led by Varun Chakravarthy and Ravi Bishnoi, while youngster Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was also included in the squad.
