The Congress will launch a political and organizational campaign from June 18, coinciding with Goa Revolution Day, to strengthen the party and prepare for future electoral battles in the coastal state, senior leaders said on Saturday, June 6, 2026.
They added that the decision was taken at a meeting chaired by AICC secretary and Goa in-charge Manikrao Thakare.
Addressing a press conference, Thakare said the party will use the historic ‘Kranti Din’ opportunity to unveil its future strategy, announce key organizational restructuring measures and intensify its campaign against the BJP government.
“All internal disputes and differences within the party have been resolved amicably. Congress is united, focused and committed to strengthening the organization across Goa,” he said.
Mr. Thakre added that the restructuring of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee executive and other organizational bodies will be announced soon as part of a comprehensive restructuring exercise.
“Extensive discussions have been held on the future roadmap of the party, its organizational expansion and preparations for upcoming political challenges. The party will launch a series of programs to highlight public issues and expose the failures of the BJP government,” he said.
AICC co-incharge Dr Anjali Nimbalkar, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Girish Chodankar, Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao and working presidents MK Shaikh, Altone D’Costa and Carlos Alvares Ferreira and others attended the meeting.
Mr. Chodankar said the party will hold a convention to mobilize grassroots workers and strengthen the organisation.
“Congress is determined to rid Goa of mismanagement, corruption and anti-people policies,” he said, while urging leaders and workers to intensify public assistance.
