A trailer loaded with fireworks burst into flames on a Tennessee interstate Saturday night, setting off pyrotechnic shots along the road and forcing authorities to temporarily shut down traffic while emergency crews responded.
Video shared by the Chattanooga Fire Department showed fireworks shooting into the air and exploding in multiple directions as flames engulfed the trailer on northbound Interstate 75 near the Ooltewah exit.
“Chattanooga Fire, Tri-Comm and law enforcement responded to a vehicle fire on I-75NB after the Ooltewah exit Saturday night,” the department said in a Facebook post. “Fireworks exploding in different directions were endangering drivers.”
Despite the chaotic scene, no injuries were reported.
