Three suffer ‘knife wounds’ in school stabbing: Pupils in lockdown as girl is arrested

Three people were ‘injured with a knife’ following a knife attack at a school in Manchester.

The Co-operative Academy on Plant Hill Road was placed on lockdown and a girl was arrested following the ‘serious incident’.

Manchester Police insist there is ‘no greater threat to pupils and staff at the school’.

A force spokesman added: ‘Three people were injured but the injuries are not believed to be serious at this time.

‘Emergency services are at the scene and we are supporting the school. ‘There is not believed to be a wider threat to pupils and staff at the school.’

Police and ambulance vehicles were seen outside the gates and in the schoolyard.

An emergency helicopter was also spotted above the building.

Co-op Academy Manchester is a non-selective, co-educational secondary school in the suburban area of ​​Blackley.
