Man charged with murder of missing woman
A man has been arrested on the NSW South Coast and charged with the murder of a woman who was allegedly abducted from north-west Sydney.
Parramatta Police Area Command officers began investigating on Tuesday following reports that a 58-year-old woman had not returned home.
“Police were told the family last had contact with the woman at around 4.50pm on Monday, June 8, 2026, when she said she was meeting a relative in Winston Hills,” NSW Police said in a statement. he said.
The woman’s vehicle was located on Dodson Street, Winston Hills, at around 9.30am on Tuesday.
At around 1.40pm on Thursday, detectives from Strike Force Dizek investigating the woman’s disappearance arrested a 33-year-old man sitting in a white Toyota Hilux in woodland along the Parnell Fire Road at Tomerong, about 20 kilometers south of Nowra and 200 kilometers from Winston Hills.
Police then searched a nearby address in Sanctuary Point.
The man was taken to Nowra police station and charged with murder. He was denied bail by police and will appear in bail court on Friday.
Police said, “The woman’s body has not been found yet.” Investigations continue.
