The committee examining the 2024 ACT elections said: “The Committee considers that introducing very limited zones for roadside election advertising and strict restrictions on the number of signs will provide sufficient opportunity for the promotion of candidates while improving candidate and volunteer safety and reducing ‘visual clutter’, environmental impact and driver distraction. It would also be practical to implement such zones and limits.” he said.
