West Bengal CM Adhikari vows zero tolerance for unrest, hooliganism in Bengal

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Friday, June 12, 2026, said his government has a “zero tolerance” policy towards unrest, hooliganism and anti-social activities and warned that it is ready to go to any lengths to combat such incidents.
At a press conference organized by the State BJP to celebrate 12 years of the BJP-led government at the Centre, he said maintaining law and order was a priority for his government in West Bengal.
“After coming to power, some incidents took place and by dealing with them decisively, we gave a clear message that there will be zero tolerance for such unrest, hooliganism and anti-social activities. We will not allow such incidents to continue,” the Prime Minister said.
Stating that he is ready to resort to any means against such incidents, Adhikari said, “The harshest measures will be taken against those who commit vandalism and those who take the law into their own hands.”
The Chief Minister said maintaining peace, law and order was a priority for his government and contrasted with the previous TMC administration by asserting that anti-social elements would not be allowed to disrupt normal life.
