Former Olympic cyclist Rohan Dennis allegedly caught driving while disqualified, car reportedly impounded

Former Olympic cyclist Rohan Dennis has reportedly had his car confiscated after he was allegedly disqualified from driving.
Police allege a 36-year-old Medindie man was seen driving a vehicle with two children just after 4pm on Thursday.
“A man was reported driving while disqualified after being caught by police late yesterday,” a police spokesman said.
“The man’s vehicle was seized by police for 28 days and he will be summoned to court at a later date.”
Mr. Dennis’ license was suspended for five years and he was given a two-year good behavior suspension following an incident in December 2023 that resulted in the death of his wife, Melissa Hoskins.
Ms Hoskins died after Dennis threw herself on the bonnet of a car he was driving near their home in Adelaide.
The woman, who tripped and was dragged under the car during the incident, was seriously injured and later died in hospital.
The court heard Mr Dennis had disregarded his wife’s safety and was not responsible for her death after he pleaded guilty to an aggravated charge of creating the possibility of harm in relation to the tragedy.

The professional cyclist has participated in three Olympic Games and won silver and bronze medals.
He won gold medals in the team pursuit event and individual time trials at the World Championships.
He also won the time trial stage at the Tour de France.
