USMNT and Paraguay kick off at 9pm from Los Angeles Stadium. The USMNT, coached by Mauricio Pochettino, enters Friday ranked 17th in the FIFA World Rankings.
America’s World Cup bid got off to a flying start when Damián Bobadilla scored an own goal to put the Americans ahead with less than 10 minutes to play.

FIFA determines its world rankings using the Elo rating system, which rewards teams for wins and penalizes them for losses, while also taking into account the strength of the competition.
This year’s World Cup features an expanded field of 48 teams.
