‘David and Victoria are digging deep into their bag of tricks’: Beckham feud hits new low after Harper’s attempt at reconciliation as insiders tell ALISON BOSHOFF that family believe Brooklyn is being ‘mean’ and ‘heartless’

The feud between the Beckhams and their son Brooklyn reached a dramatic new level yesterday, with outrageous accusations and counter-accusations after Brooklyn’s sister Harper was photographed trying to contact him.
Brooklyn, 27, hasn’t seen his parents David and Victoria since late 2024, and this January he accused them of manipulating him ‘his whole life’ and trying to ‘ruin’ his relationship with wife Nicola Peltz.
On Friday, his father, former football player David, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame; The star was followed by pal Tom Cruise, his wife, former singer and fashion designer Victoria, and their children Romeo, 23, Cruz, 21, and Harper, 14, who flew to Los Angeles for the event.
Four hours after the ceremony, Harper was photographed on her way to Brooklyn and Nicola’s house, wearing the pink dress and cardigan she wore to the ceremony.
The couple was not home and left minutes after the woman reportedly left a hand-written letter. Paparazzi pictures were printed in the New York Post over the weekend.
David Beckham is accompanied by his wife Victoria, daughter Harper and sons Romeo and Cruz as he receives a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Brooklyn has reportedly had no meaningful contact with Harper since the argument over her father’s 50th birthday party in May 2025.
Brooklyn lawyers accused the Beckhams of using Harper as a pawn in the conflict.
Their statement said: ‘The fact that the photographers were on hand during the hand delivery of the letter explains everything; This was choreographed for the cameras.’
Brooklyn’s friends amplified this claim yesterday, accusing David and Victoria of ‘going deeper into deception’ with Harper’s visit.
A friend commented: ‘Doing this is very in line with the Beckhams’ character and brand and proves what Brooklyn has been saying all along. With this they dig deeper into their own bag of tricks. This option they have chosen is very counterproductive.
‘It only expresses their desperation and ultimately results in a further deterioration of the relationship.’
The source added that Brooklyn has not had any meaningful contact with Harper since the argument over David’s 50th birthday party in May 2025. They explained that it wasn’t because she didn’t care about David, but quite the opposite.
I was told that Brooklyn loved his sister but believed that any continued contact put her in a ‘very difficult’ situation with her parents, so he chose to step back to protect her from being drawn into hostilities. The source said: ‘Brooklyn has therefore had very limited contact and this latest incident with Harper shows her instincts were right. Using children in your campaign is not a good look for a parent.
‘Nothing has changed since then’ [his statement in] Fireplace. Brooklyn doesn’t want to get involved in a PR war. The Beckhams have never grasped the reality of what they did to him and Nicola and the consequences of constantly campaigning against their son’s wife. It’s not just that they do it, it’s that they don’t stop doing it. ‘It’s very sad to see a family torn apart like this.’
But friends of the Beckhams yesterday insisted David and Victoria had no idea Harper was visiting Brooklyn.
They claimed a photographer was ‘lucky’ to catch him there.
The 27-year-old shared an Instagram story showing herself running in New York City, making it clear she was on the opposite side of the country when her sister showed up at her front door
One friend described the idea of montage photos and a PR stunt involving the teenager as ‘obviously ridiculous and distasteful’, saying: ‘As if anyone could do this, let alone David’s star day. If they were truly brand and image obsessed, [the ceremony] The focus is not on setting up pap shots, which they’ve never done, by the way.
‘I suspect the paparazzi were there to catch Brooklyn and Nicola on the day of David’s star ceremony; This was my father’s luck.
Harper passed by in a flash. Nobody even knew Harper was there. ‘He flew off his own back to drop something.’
The friend said David and Victoria were not aware of her plan but would have supported it if they had known.
Now the Beckham family believes more strongly than ever that Brooklyn is ‘evil’ and ‘heartless’ and points to the allegation that Harper’s visit was choreographed as evidence. The source said: ‘How can you criticize a 14-year-old who has been separated from his sibling for over a year? It’s a really rude and unpleasant thing to say, but honestly nothing comes as a surprise.
‘Only they can answer why they have now chosen to attack the sister they previously liked to pretend to keep in touch with.’
Photos on Friday showed Harper arriving at Brooklyn and Nicola’s Beverly Hills estate in a chauffeur-driven car and leaving thoughtfully a few minutes later.
Aspiring chef Brooklyn later shared an Instagram Story showing herself going for a run in New York City, making it clear that she was on the opposite side of the country when her little sister showed up at her front door.
David’s plaque on the Hollywood Walk of Fame will cost him or the sponsoring organization $75,000 (£56,000) in installation and maintenance fees. It costs $250 to nominate someone for stardom, and a committee at the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce decides who to choose.
When asked about the family dispute on the way to the ceremony, he said: ‘Honestly, I’m sorry to stop you there, but this is a private matter. That’s the one thing I don’t want to talk about.’
The Beckhams have been embroiled in an increasingly bitter dispute with Brooklyn and Nicola for months, while relations are said to have deteriorated dramatically after the couple failed to attend David’s 50th birthday celebrations. In January, Brooklyn released a scathing six-page statement denouncing his family. He said he had severed ties with his famous family, declaring he was no longer part of ‘Brand Beckham’ and insisting their family relationship was ‘performative’ and ‘unreal’.
Brooklyn complained that David and Victoria had controlled her for much of her life, tried to drive a wedge between her and Nicola, and embarrassed her when her mother danced ‘inappropriately’ with her during the first dance at her wedding.
Last summer, Brooklyn and Nicola’s lawyers wrote to the Beckhams’ team, requesting that all communication be through legal representatives. And just months later, Brooklyn blocked her parents and siblings on Instagram.
In an interview in May, Victoria said: ‘Being a parent of young adult children and adult children, I mean, it’s so different than having young children. I think we’re trying our best.’
Harper is launching a skincare range with the help of her mother, who has her own make-up range, before her GCSEs next year. Romeo is a model and has also recently launched a sportswear collection; Cruz, on the other hand, is trying to do this as a musician, again with the support of his famous parents.
