Princess Kate drops major hint about royal relative | Royal | News

William has previously shared his deep sadness that his beloved mother never met her husband and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. The royal, who will celebrate his 44th birthday later this week, has previously said he would be “delighted to have met Catherine”.

Speaking of the interaction between Sophie and Catherine yesterday, Ms James told the Daily Express: “Catherine and Sophie traditionally look for each other at this event and traditionally they tend to have a bit of a giggle together.

“After some tensions at Connecting the Colours, they always seem relaxed and enjoy the event together, displaying a high level of affection and fun while doing so.

“Their husbands’ Garter outfits seem to cause some smiles. Unlike the rather flamboyant uniforms and bearskins William and Edward wore for the Trooping of the Colour, the large floppy hats with Garter feathers may not be all that flattering and can often trigger smiles or grins.”

Speaking of Diana, he added: “But the apparent signals of the two women chatting, laughing and having fun together define the strength of their relationship, while perhaps providing a poignant, poignant clue to how Kate and Diana might have been together had Diana lived.”

The Order of the Garter is one of the most recognized royal traditions. The big event takes place just days after the Meeting of the Colours, which celebrates the monarch’s official birthday. The service is an annual procession held in Windsor and was founded by King Edward III in 1348.

Catherine and Sophie were seen grinning from ear to ear as their husbands came into view, and fans took to social media to react. One fan commented: “I always love that moment with both of them and their husbands – there’s such a flirty and lovely sparkle in their eyes… between both couples.. [heart-eyed emoji]”

The first account then wrote: “They’re still school girls.”
